Idk if this has already been said because I didn't read through all of the posts but does this girl remind you of the Ambien in the baby bottle girl? Sounds like some shit that girl would say.

my point is there are so many things that have a higher chance of happening but you arent hysterical about those.

For example many people dont vaccinate, are they bad parents? Children that get measles have a 1/1000 chance of dying in the US

If you talk on the phone, text or eat while driving while your child is in your car then you are exposing them to much more risk than if you just leave them at home in their crib sleeping and run out for an hour. I bet most of you do this on a daily basis.

Again, I have never done it and never would, but I also wouldnt call CPS on my cousin who did this.

In many developed countries where they arent so paranoid (maybe they dont watch so much TV), the culture says that it is ok to leave children or babies alone for short periods. Sweden for example.

Okay. Turning your head for a minute or two while you are in the house with your baby is a whole hell of a lot different than leaving your two month old alone in a locked house, depending on someone else to enter your residence to take care of your child, after you've already left. That is a CPS worthy incident. Also, I think anyone who texts while they're driving, regardless of if they have kids or not, should have their cell phone shoved up their asses.

I'm not one to throw this out there, but seriously I can't believe you have children.
Any decent mother would be appalled at this situation and would hope some legal action be taken.
The fact that you think it's okay to leave a poor defenseless 2 month old at home, is sickening. I wonder what you think is okay to do with YOUR children.

Regardless of how likely it is to happen, the fact is IT CAN HAPPEN. A person's job as a mother is to love, nurture, and do EVERYTHING they can to protect your babies no matter what.

So get the f**k out, you're a pathetic excuse for a mother if you think shit like this is okay and if you can honestly say that this doesn't make this woman a bad mom. This DEFINITELY makes her a bad mom.

You are an idiot. I cannot believe you are defending leaving a child at home by itself. How f**king stupid can you get?!

do any of you have any evidence whatsoever for your arguments? seriously do any of you even have above a high school education? You can barely discuss this topic like intelligent human beings. Can any of you actually understand the concept of probabilities and how that relates to risk? You can imagine that your house would catch on fire and your baby would die, but do you have any sense of the actual chance of that happening?

In life we take risks all the time. If you have a swimming pool, regardless of if you are home, you have increased the risk to your child.

If you keep a gun in the house you have increased the risk to your child
If you dont vaccinate you have increased the risk to your child
If you sleep with your baby you have increased the risk to your child.

I dont think that leaving your immobile, sleeping baby alone for an hour substantially increases the risk to your child. Some people here have said 10 minutes, others have said they are crazy for doing it for 10 minutes. How about when you shower? Why not 30 minutes? Why not 60?

Obviously if you left your kid in a pile of shit crying, stuck between the slats of their crib or whatever, then yes that deserves CPS.

As I have mentioned multiple times, I have never left my child home alone and wouldnt. But I also absolutely would not call CPS on my cousin, sister etc. for doing it. I would most likely offer to help out.

What argument? Are you kidding me? What part of IT'S f**king ILLEGAL and NEGLECT are you not understanding? How much more of an argument do you need?
NOTHING you say is going to make it right for anyone to leave a f**king newborn home alone. My God.
You don't justify leaving an INFANT home alone by saying they have a greater chance of dying in a car crash. You are grasping. You DO NOT leave a two month old home alone for hours. Jesus Christ.
Apparently, even a college education can't teach you common sense. Seriously? Your stupidity amazes me.

I think you're getting so defensive because you've left your kid at home by theirself and now you feel guilty about doing it, so I didn't even bother reading what you wrote, other than the first few sentences because you're full of shit.

You're f**king stupid.
You can change the kid's diaper, then they shit in it right away and have to sit there in their shit for hours screaming because you're not f**king home.
There could be a fire, and no one to go grab that baby.

The risks may not be high, but they're f**king there. That's reason enough. Go f**k yourself.

If you can break in while shes gone, then someone else with harmful intentions could have also. Call the cops and CPS. :?

I can discuss this topic without being downright rude and yes, I have an education above high school. I've completed college too.

I give up though. There's no point in continuing this. I don't think leaving a newborn alone in its own filth and crying is okay but you do since it's only for half an hour or whatever. Call me paranoid or over-protective or tell me I watch TV too much (we don't even have cable, actually...), that's fine. I'll stick to not getting in my car and leaving my child alone while I go out to do whatever. When they're older that's fine but a two month old? Nope.

Yeah, there's definitely a huge difference there.

I'm pretty shocked this woman is still arguing her point. It's parenting 101 that you don't leave a baby alone for any amount of time longer than it takes you to pee or take a quick shit. She's trying to excuse leaving for a half hour. That's absurd. I'm shocked she's a parent at all.
