I'm most likely getting the mirena put in next week. I'm excited to finally have some BC! But of course I have a couple questions for you Mama's that have it. If you have the mirena do/did you have any issues? Was it painfull to get put in? Any thing I should be worried about?
I gained almost 50lbs on it and my mood swings so bad people thought I was bi-polar. Other than that it was just peachy .
My friend said she cramped for the first 10 or so mins but nothing since... If I'm not pregnant this cycle I'm going to do mirena so we can plan for a different time.

It didn't hurt to get put in but it has caused so many problems. I went to the Er the other night and had excruciating pain I got an ultrasounds and still waiting for the results but I'm thinking it related to Mirena
It hurt getting it for me.
I gained like 60lbs, had horrible mood swings, horrible acne, intense cramps, nausea, dizziness, headaches all the time... It made me crazy. Actually ruined my relationship with SO (which is now fixed since having it removed)
The only good things was I didn't have a period at all, I didn't get pregnant, and it didn't hurt coming out.
Gained 15 lbs that I couldnt get rid of and I now have an ovarian cyst. It also took me a while to get pregnant and sustain a pregnancy. I MCed twice after getting it removed
yes it was painful getting put in, and more painful for a few days after (very bad cramping). I had bleeding for a long time (like 2 weeks) but then no period for 3.5 years until i had it taken out. however, i would get really really painful cramps from time to time. but i'm still going to get it again. so worth it!
I cramped and spotted for a few days after getting it put in. I had it for 2 1/2 years before the doctor took it out. I had it removed due to severe headaches and cramping, but come to find out I can't use any type of hormonal b/c. I loved my Mirena!
My mirena was good for about a year and a half.....and then all hell broke loose and i was in a state of constant pain!
weight gain, headaches.. worse mood swings.. and sorry if this is tmi.
i just started having sex with my new(ish) SO and hes "bigger" then my ex. i cant do certain positions with him cause he hits the sting and moves the mirena and causes me to spot and hurt after..
ive had mine for 2 years and im seriously so sick of it i cant wait to get it out but dont know what i want to change to

If you arent nursing I always had great luck with the NuvaRing and Mirena gave me all the same crap you had.
It didn't hurt getting put in but it had a huge impact on me. I had mood swings and I gained a lot of weight super fast. The doctors didn't believe it was f**king with me so bad so that made it even worse. Also I didn't like the fact that it can get embedded in the uterus. My string went missing and I was constantly worrying that it decided to play hide and seek in my uterus. I actually named the f****r waldo because it was so hard to find and remove.
The day I got mirena i was nauseous and dizzy and it never stopped I was doing good with diet and exercise and lost about 20 pounds before mirena. Then in 6 weeks of the same diet and exercise I gained 16 pounds I just recently lost (I got it out in august) I had horrible pains in my uterus to the point I couldn't move. I got it taken out on my 6 week appt and the pain has yet to go away and I got cyst one just ruptured the other night and I have a crazy stomach issue and IBS symptoms.
Did anyone get a crash after having it removed?
I felt like shit about a day after I had it removed then I got a really heavy period that wouldn't quit. For 4 days I felt even more depressed and anxious, I had a massive head ache and pressure in my face. And it must make you retain fluid because I was going urinating at least once an hour.
