My throat feels fuzzy? MamaCass{+JOEW} 4 kids; 2 angel babies; Pennsylvania 42368 posts

For the past 3 or 4 days I've had this weird feeling in the back of my throat. It almost feels like there is hair or fuzz back there (like back of the tongue/soft pallet area...can't quite pinpoint it).

I've looked, and don't see anything back there, and I've tried everything to get rid of it - drinking, eating, clearing my throat, coughing, sneezing, gargling, etc - nothing helps!

Anyone ever have this or know what it could be? I've tried googling, but nothing really useful has come up.

This is hopefully not what's happening with you but when I had mono my very first symptom was a fuzzy feeling in my throat and then this white stuff appeared on my tonsils and then I got sick as hell.

Eek, I hope not!

My sister said she had something similar right before she got strep, too. My tonsils look fine though, and no other symptoms, so I'm hoping not.

I have so many inappropriate comments for this!

I hope you're not getting sick though lol

I get this feeling every other year or so and am currently experiencing it. It is not good, but it is manageable. From what I can tell, your throat is reacting to some sort of bacteria and is starting to become infected. Gargle salt water every couple hours, use a neti pot if you can stand the whole water in nose thing (I've begun to associate it with feeling healthy so I like it now. Hated it at first) and drink lots of tea with raw honey mixed in. Regular processed store honey will not help. Raw has all of the antibacterial/antifungal properties in it and is way more delicious anyways. I get mine in a jar at QFC for about $13. It's well worth the price, trust me. In the meantime if you develop any coughing or mucus, carry some Sudafed and cough drops. You're gonna need it.
