I was just wondering if you can put newborns in bouncers or swings. I've always assumed its not a good idea, but I've never really known for sure. If not, where else is a good place to set down a newborn? I've already ordered a moses basket so most of baby's sleepy time will be spent in there, but is it really necessary to hold the baby, even a newborn, during all of the time that the baby is awake?
you can use a bouncer and swing.
i put ailey in her swing the day we came home, and i had a carters bouncer so its not a bouncer persay more of a chair but she was in that the day she came home as well
my son loved his swing after he was born i just always watched him while he was in it and had a blanket around him so he couldn't really move his head around and he has a bouncey seat he's used since he was born ( not an upright one through) and it's been a life saver and it's like the one thing even now that is his favorite. My son wasn't held all the time when he was awake sometimes he was in his bassinet or int he bouncey seat or swing or he'd lay on the bed with me.
I've used the swing &this..newborn to toddler rocker by fisher price...
my son is 7months &he still loves both but he moves too much for the swing. my cousin has an almost 2mth old baby &she held him alot. now all he does is cry if she puts him down. i on the other hand didn't &my son sometimes doesn't even want to be held, he rather sit on his own &play w/ his toys.
I didn't put my son in the swing when it was on until he was 2 weeks old. Before that I would sit him in there if I had to pee or put on shoes. I did mostly hold him a lot. Or I layed him on his tummy. It is good to get them started with tummy time from a very early age, so that they dont put up so much of a fight later.
See I thought perhaps there might not be enough neck and head support in some of the bouncers, but I suppose that could be remedied with a car seat bumper thing or something. Thats definitely good to know that I won't have to be holding him all the time. Thanks for the advice :)
