The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover's Code of Conduct.

Amazon has pulled an electronic book about pedophilia from its online store after complaints and a boycott threat, according to media reports on Thursday.

The book, "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover's Code of Conduct," by Philip R. Greaves II, went on sale on October 28 and cost $4.79 to download, the reports said.

Amazon initially defended the book's publication in a statement but later withdrew it from its online store after a campaign against it spread on Twitter, Facebook and other media. Some people said they planned to boycott the store in protest, the reports said.

The book title appeared on the company's website on Thursday but a subsequent message read: "We're sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site."

Here's a CNN video about it:

What do you think of this? Should the book have been removed? Should it have even been published? Should the FBI track down all who bought one? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. As sick at is... I want to say I think the author has the right to have it published and sold privately, but I understand why Amazon would be one of the MANY companies refusing to support such a book. What do you think?

It would be an invasion of privacy to track down people who bought a copy. I think amazon should sell any damned book it feels like. I don't think amazon has any requirement to censor what people have access to. I don't think they should be forced to sell anything they don't want to, either. They're a private business, just leave them the f**k alone.

They should track down all who bought it. And investigate the guy that wrote it. I mean, when I read a summary of it they made it look like it was a guide to loving children without abusing them. Like how to overcome urges. The snippet made me want to hunt down the guy that wrote. I get freedom of speech but there are enough pervs out there without having a how to guide for them to read.

The quote from the book is f**king gross.

But like I said in other threads, it's a book. Whether amazon dot com sells it or not, your children aren't going to be any more 'protected'.

I think the whole thing is blown out of proportion, even to the extent of say it's a f**king FBI plot. gtfo. lol.

Amazon should be able to sell whatever it wants that isn't illegal, and this book was not illegal.

I posted a topic back when the book was first discovered and someone made the point that the book should be allowed to be sold because not everyone who purchases the book has the intentions of physically committing the acts that are listed inside.

I personally the book makes me sick.

I think the book is sick. I think it is wrong in every way imaginable. I also think we live in a country that offers free speech and the person has a right to write such a nasty disgusting book and amazon has a right to sell said book. Having said that...who the f**k wrote the book and I hope he has protection because people are pissed!!

Like I said in the OP, I think the man has the right to sell these books. Freedom of speech. Freedom of the press. Yadda, yadda. But, because of the nature of the book, he's going to have to do it out of his back door, because no company is going to host him. At least none that don't want to lose a shit ton of business.

It is quite sick though... by the snippet and the video, I don't think it's just a book about how to live with yourself as a pedophile... it's kind of like a "how to molest a kid and be nice about it" guide. :?

I don't agree with them selling it but I am glad this isn't another "let's all boycott Amazon post":D
