I'm 30 weeks and 3 days,I just had a doctors appt. and my blood pressure was high so they want me to come back in tomorrow for it to be checked. They said that it could be a sign of preclamsia. What is it? What are the risks?

Very high risks, you'll be prob on bedrest..One of the signs on it is your face will be swallon, hands and feet swell but it will be a sudden thing not slowy swell, and you'll get a headache not the kind from behind your head up..It will be between your eyebrows kinda headache..Thats what the doctor told me.
Actually I had it after I had my baby on October 10.I swelled up REALLY bad and I started feeling a headache in the back of my head.I kept telling my friend and boyfriend it felt like fluid was pumping up into my head.I wasnt really sure but thats what it felt like.I just thought it was where they messed up my Epidural I had no idea it was fluid pumping into my head.I went to the ER and they gave me pills and sent me home...the next day I woke up and couldnt see anything at allI had a POUNDNG headache and I really didnt know what to do but I went out to smoke and I started going into a seizur.I had 2 seizurs and they kept me in the hospital from Sunday till Thursday I dont remeber anything from the time I started having the 1st seizur till Wendsday. It was very scary I had no idea about anything that was going on and the doctors gave me no warning at all and they seen how swollen I was before I left after having the baby.So be really carefull bc it sucks to go through that plus my baby was stillborn so all the things I went through this month have been really hard on me.But I wish you luck and hope you dont have to experience any of that.I have been going to the hospital every week for B/P check and its still really high but they dont seem to care.So tell your doctor if you start feeling weird or something. If you want to ask me anything you can message me and I will try to give you as much info as I can.
I had preeclampsia with my son. All I can say is take it easy. Here's the website for the Preeclampsia Foundation.
Best of luck.
I had mild pre eclampsia that they found the day before my induction day...my blood pressure was high and then my blood work was a little strange but I didnt feel anything weird no swelling, headache, blurry vision or any of that...after delivery the next day they had to put me on Magnesium Sulfate for 24 hours...it makes you feel so loopy and they monitored my blood pressure for the rest of my stay. I was released on SUnday and on Wednesday I got a pretty bad headache and decided to go check my blood pressure and it was 155/105 which is really high and I called my doctor and they put me back in the hospital, back on the magnesium, and monitored me for another 24 hours...its been 3 weeks since my son was born and I go to the store everyday and check my blood pressure and it continued to be 140/90 ish for about two weeks but the past few days its come down to 120/70 or 80s so I think its going away...I never had ceasures or anything so I guess mine didnt get too bad...
I am being tested for that now.... my feet and legs are huge and my hands and face are a little swollen too... I see flashes of light sometimes... and the right side of my face was tingling yesterday... I took the 24 urine test and had blood work yesterday and I am now waiting for my results I have an appointment at 3:45. I am so nervous!!
well I wish you girls luck.! Its not the best thing to go through if it gets as bad as mine did so really take it easy!!!! I dont think I could stress that bad enough bc I didnt listen to the doctors and I was on my feet everyday after I had Brandi doing all kinds of running and shit and thats what made it so bad for me,but with the situation I was put in I didnt have time to sit down. Its really not worth waking up with 2 IVs (with 2 bags on each of them), an EKG,ECG, bloodpressure cuff, leg cuffs,& a catheter! It was crazy!Im prolly scaring you girls now but Im really not trying to maybe thats what it takes to get you all to rest!

sounds like what i went through. i had visual disturbances from the swelling in my head as well as headaches. i was put in the hospital on bedrest for a week and i ended up having an emergency c section because my liver was starting to be damaged and i was so swollen they couldnt get the spinal in so i had to be put under general anasteshia and no one got to come in the delivery room. i was also put on magnesium and morphine for 24 hours after and i remained in the hospital for around four days.
the best advice i can give you is to rest rest rest! good luck momma!!!
