Galvez has maintained in her research that phthalates are responsible for childhood obesity and at the time of puberty.
In another research undertaken by pediatrics on new born babies aged between eight weeks to two years old and who were currently using baby care products. It was observed that at least one phthalate was found in their urine sample. In some babies, it was alarming to see the presence of nearly seven types of phthalates. Younger babies had higher levels than other ones. Baby care products like swipes did not have their presence but a high percentage was found in cream, powder etc.

When choosing your new child's product be careful and check up on the ingredients used. Phthalates are usually not listed as phthalates in your baby care products. You can recognize them by their chemical names like DEP or diethyl phthalate. Due a research online and visit the babies care product websites and then choose wisely.
Also check the quality of the plastic bottles that contains these infant care products. Phthalates are usually used in plastic to make it flexible and durable, there are chances that the chemical may get absorbed in the product and affect your baby's skin.

Choose plastic products which have recycle code of 1 or 2 or 5.
